Sega’s Yakuza Studio Announces Hokuto ga Gotoku for PlayStation 4 in Japan
Alongside Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza Online, Sega’s Yakuza Studio has announced Hokuto ga Gotoku, a new Fist of the North Star (or Hokuto no Ken in Japanese) for the PlayStation 4.
The game will feature Hokuto no Ken’s protagonist Kenshiro, who will be voiced by Takaya Kuroda, known for voicing Yakuza‘s Kazuma Kiryu. The game will have a completely new story and will take place in Eden, known as the “City of Miracles.” Additionally, the many mini-games found in the Yakuza games will be featured in this game as well. In this new story, due to the destructive final war, every living thing seemed to have been destroyed, but humanity was not wiped out yet. An era where all civilizations have been wiped out and where the strong compete for the little food and resources left behind and violence dominates has risen, all which takes place in Eden.
Then comes Kenshiro, a lone man at the end of his wandering days, who finally arrives in Eden. With his heart full of despair, there was only one hope left to live for. Kenshiro’s only hope was a rumor that his beloved fiancee Yuria, who he thought to be dead, is living in Eden. However, his hope was in vain as the city was tightly sealed and they refused to let people enter from the outside.
Hokuto ga Gotoku is coming to Japan in 2018. Check out the game’s official website, and trailer and the set of screenshots below:
